Today, the accuracy and flexibility of dosing systems must be increased, in order to fulfil the total traceability demands for animal feed industry. For that, production data must be automatic generated and archived from the intake of raw materials until the expedition of final product, either in bags or bulk material.
The plant has one of the biggest production capacity flow rate in Portugal. The majority of the production is for internal consumption, and the manufactured feed is meanly for poultry, mainly chicken. Despite that, the plant needs to have the possibility to produce other feeds. The plant has about 1 million tones/month pro-duction capacity, and works 24h/day, 7 days/week. The mainly demand, was to change the older automation system, for a new one, that between other new functions and advantages, allowed the implementation of complete and accuracy traceability.
